Cooperation with Ludovika University in water resources management and academic exchange is expanding

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen cooperation in the fields of water resources management, water diplomacy, public governance, and sustainable development, as well as to launch joint academic and research initiatives.
As part of the visit program, the delegation held meetings and seminars at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers and Bukhara State University.
During the meetings at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers, the parties exchanged views on:
▫️transboundary water resources in Central Asia;
▫️management of the Amu Darya and Syr Darya river basins;
▫️international water law;
▫️water security and climate adaptation.
The parties reached preliminary agreements on conducting joint research in the fields of water diplomacy and integrated water resource management, as well as on organizing faculty exchanges and short-term training courses.
At Bukhara State University, particular attention was given to cooperation in education and academic exchange.
In particular, the discussions focused on:
▫️introducing Ludovika University’s educational programs and methodological materials for the “Political Science” and the planned “International Relations” bachelor’s programs;
▫️organizing regular online lectures and masterclasses for Law students with the participation of international professors;
▫️launching Uzbek language instruction at the Turkic States Research Center under Ludovika University;
▫️developing online and offline training courses for public servants of Bukhara region and other regions in the fields of modern governance, international relations, and communication.
At the conclusion of the meetings, the parties agreed to systematically develop cooperation in water diplomacy, public administration, ecology, sustainable development, and higher education.
For reference, during the Working Group’s visit to Hungary in December 2025, the first meeting held in Budapest resulted in preliminary agreements on organizing internship programs in Hungary for Uzbek public servants, engaging Hungarian experts, and launching a joint educational program in water resources management with Bukhara State University.
